when i punch my punch bag, even though i wear wraps and gloves, i still tear my skin?

my instructor said i am punchin correctly, and i wear wraps and gloves, but i still tear my skin just under my knuckles, mostly inbetween the little fingers and the other one. am i on the bag for too long? i go on for an hour or 2 at least. or am i hitting to hard? please help!

I think you are punching for too long. Mix it up with other training like shadow boxing and skipping for endurance. Not every hit needs to be a powershot. Also work on hitting clean and fast. Speed is just as important as power. Try putting some shea butter on your hands before you wrap them. It’s a bit greasy but once you rub it in well, it should keep your skin softer and more pliable.
